Yes. My final exam began yesterday, and today was the second day.
First day I had Math and Art, and today I had Spanish and Chinese characters, and I don't think I did a good job.. MENTAL ERUPTION!!
I had to study for the upcoming test on Monday but I couldn't concentrate well.. so I just decided to draw something. Anything.
Then I thought of Tim Burton's movie 'Alice in Wonderland' and Anne Hathaway who acted the role of White Queen came up in my mind. So I drew her!

After drawing Anne Hathaway, my roommate Cue Hyun asked me to draw Amanda Seyfried. I tried her too but it doesn't really look like her again :-(
The last drawing wasn't the actress. One of the 18th wavers in domestic field asked me to draw her, so I did. She is Seon-min Kim from class 2.
I guess I gave up my finals XD During the exam period, everything except studying is so interesting and fun :-(
I believe that you, reading this post, must have watched, or at least heard about, one of those amazing and famous movies mentioned upward. All these movies are directed by one person, Tim Burton, whom I am a huge fan of. Tim Burton born in Burbank, California, and is known to have a lonely, solitary childhood. His debut movie was 'Vincent', which shows a short story of a seven-year-old boy Vincent Malloy, who thinks very different from other normal children. After this short movie, Burton continued on making different kinds of animations like 'Frankenweenie', 'Corpse Bride' and '9', and also created many famous movies like 'Edward Scissorhands', 'Alice in Wonderland' and 'Big Fish'. All of Burton's movies show his abundant creativity and distinct fantasy, and the story of the movies usually seems quite unrealistic.

Since I was very young, I knew quite many of his movies and enjoyed them a lot. At first I just started to watch the movies without realizing that they were all created by one director, and when I found it out accidentally, I started to search for more of his movies, then pictures and writings too. His way of thinking did seemed a bit terrifying but attracted me so much, and on the beginning of 2013, I found that Tim Burton is having an exhibition in Korea. It didn't cost too much and I could see numerous props Burton used in his movies, and even watch his old movies in different rooms. Unfortunately photo shoots were banned so I could only take pictures at photo zones and outside the building.
There were so many different sources exhibited so it took more than three and a half hours only to watch the exhibition, so I will not mention everything I saw there. One thing that I was interested the most was the movie 'Hansel and Gretel'. 'Hansel and Gretel' is the movie I watched inside the exhibition, and it was shown in USA's Disney Channel in 1983 for only once. It is impossible to find it on youtube, and wasn't even released in theater so I didn't even knew if this movie exist. The basic plot of the movie is same as the story we know, but the distinct thing about Burton's 'Hansel and Gretel' was that he used Japanese-American actors. In the movie I was able to find many Japanese elements like daggers and Japanese toys, and the reason why he used Japanese things so much was only because he liked Japan.
On the outer wall of the exhibiting hall, there were different character drawings of Tim Burton and here we were allowed to take the pictures. This is the picture of me next to his drawing! Every single characters seemed so different from each other and had very strong individuality which attracted me.
Since visiting Tim Burton's exhibition was not a common opportunity, I was quite desperate for the souvenir. XD The time I visited the exhibition was pretty late so most of the souvenirs were sold out but I found the lovely figures of Tim Burton's characters. Korea was the last country where the exhibition was being held, so it might have been my last chance to watch and feel every works of Tim Burton at once. It was so delightful experience for me who love Tim Burton's work very much, and if you haven't knew him before this posting, go straight to the DVD shop and watch his movies. You will never regret!!
I tried to make the photos' size closest to 758x318(pixels) which is the most appropriate size for my blog's main slide show. The biggest change from the original photo must be the size, and the color(I changed it to make it seem more vivid). All of these pictures are taken in Europe, mostly France, when I went to Vision Trip with my fellow students on May(You may read the previous posting about the Vision Trip if you want to know more). Revising all the pictures made me miss those days so much..T.T Since it is final exam period I can view all the pictures and hopefully I can go on a trip again during summer vacation!
This is the result of my second album art making. It is actually very fun job and I definitely will try the third one if I have some time.
If you read my previous posting about my art class's final project (creating my own album art), you will know that I've already finished my work. However for some reason, I decided to make another album art, not to hand in to teacher, but only for fun. This time I made a cover art of 'Loneliness amplification device(외로움 증폭장치)' by Busker Busker with my friend Seung Hye Kim.
In the lyrics of the song keywords like 'saw-toothed wheel', 'hands of a clock', 'second-hand' and 'clockwork' appears a lot repeatedly, so the main element of the picture became a clock.
First thing I did was taking a picture of Seung Hye's antic looking clock and open it with Adobe Photoshop CS5. Then I erased the number signs of the clock and left only the hands of the clock.
One of the biggest keywords in the song was 'saw-toothed wheels' and I wanted to express it in the picture but didn't know how to. So I first drew it on a spare paper like the picture attached on left. I changed is as a form a brush and stamped it on the empty center part of the clock, and moderated the transparency of my drawing.
Unlike last time, I wanted to show the title of the song bigger than the artist's name, so wrote '외로움 증폭장치' in Korean, again on a spare paper like this
I changed it as a brush too, and stamped it down the clock.
Only thing left was to decorate the picture more, so I just added random colors down the edges, and mixed a bit of red in the picture of the saw tooth wheels.
